Scope

Night Shift is a craft cocktail bar located in the heart of Houston's East End. Rootlab created the concept and architectural design, permitted, managed construction and fabricated and installed all custom elements on this forty-two hundred square foot warehouse renovation with roof deck addition.

5000 pounds of steel I-beams to support the removal of a structural column and the 1300 square foot roof deck. 1000 linear feet of controllable LED uplighting on existing ceiling joists plus another 200 feet of controllable RGB LED uplighting on the I-beams. 45 feet of concrete skirt and 1-5/8" thick walnut bar top with hinged leaf and custom laser cut drink rails. 17 feet of back bar and shelving with integrated dotless LED lighting. 24 powder coated steel and white oak barstools with biscuit-tufted upholstered seats. 76 feet of upholstered banquette. 58 feet of indoor steel planters with integrated irrigation system. 58 feet of aluminum hanging light enclosure. 16 white oak table tops with custom bases. A 17' long I-beam standing table (built using some extra I-beams left over from the ceiling work). Two bespoke staircases. Five neon signs. Seven custom steel and glass doors. Three walnut and terrazzo bathroom vanities with custom mirrors. 26 rubber trees.
